*_FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDEN_T*

*OPEN LETTER TO THE VICE CHANCELLOR, PROF. OZO-MEKURI NDIMELE*
&
*CC: ALL RIVERS STATE STUDENTS IN IAUE*

My Thoughts are with you and your loved ones during this uncertain devastating times. In the nick of this COVID-19 pandemic which is a critical Global Health Crisis that has consequently morphed into a pandemonium in Nigeria. It is incumbent in me as the PRESIDENT representing the Good people of Rivers State Students in IAUE to alert my Students on this Health challenge that is growing more serious by the minute and systematic measures are being taken to stem the problematic tide.

The World has come very Close to shutting down but I am inspired all around the World, people are taking necessary precautions procedures to protect themselves and their families from CORONA-VIRUS.

My voice cannot be quiet at such a time, with the current hike in prices of Foods, Scarcity as it may and the continuous shutting down of the Economy without any Stimulus Package from the Nigerian Government.

I am raising this passionate appeal to the VICE CHANCELLOR, that the World would declare him Great if he considers the plights of the average student, whom today might have wished to pay his or her fees by the end of the Month but as it may, would rather have such money utilized in purchasing Food stuffs at a very rate with no stimulus package from Both the Federal, State & LGA. How laughable it remains that a President would declare a STAY AT HOME ORDER, And would only reduce the Cost of fuel, What an IRONY, Are You encouraging Movement or discouraging it. But not being distracted from the main topic, I plead that on behalf of the 12,000 Rivers State Students in IAUE that upon resumption after the EPIDEMIC HOLIDAYS, that the School Management should consider a TWO-WEEK EXTENSION in the closing of the Portal for School Fees, as to allow Parents hold a Balance in being able to pay, as many parents are being focused at being alive currently.

My gracious Vice Chancellor, I pray that this appeal gets too U, as all other mediums have been shut down in having the needed access to You. Please Be Compassionate as the times are hard and the Students can't fair any better under such clueless Leadership that's not thinking of the Hardship and Hunger after the CORONA-VIRUS, which might result to HUNGER VIRUS. We plead that you give considerable thoughts to our Request, as we remain very open to all forms of Negotiations and Meditations on the subject matter.

Conclusively, I wish to restate my commitment to supporting IAUE, NURSS NATIONAL & the RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT in this precarious times. I am hopeful that NIGERIA will avert this disaster, and I even hope more that this forces us to address our priorities as a Nation and work to restructure the Country's Health Sector in a way that truly serves the people.

GOD BLESS & SAVE NIGERIA
